The Beginning
Our founder, the late Arya VaidyanP .V. Rama Varier, born in a distinguished and scholarly family in 1908, was a man of immense knowledge with great compassion and love for mankind. A humanitarian, philosopher, scholar and physician par excellence Varierstarted practicing Ayurveda after graduating from the Ayurveda College, Kottakkal. In 1943, he independently set out to propagate Ayurveda and establish the Arya Vaidya Pharmacy in Coimbatore. In 1959 he started an Ayurveda Hospital which is presently known as The Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam and Research Institute.

Sri. P. R. Krishna Kumar, head of the AVP Group, like his father and founder of AVP, Arya VaidyanP .V. Rama Varier, leads a zealous quest for excellence - both in service and products. He is an eminent national and international figure in the field of traditional medicines.

We have excellent in-house boarding facilities along with an in-house pharmacy catering to a variety of illnesses.
Our Medical Team
The hospital is headed by Prof. Dr. K.T .Jayakrishnan, Chief Medical Officer, Former Medical Superintendent of Ayurveda College, Coimbatore and Sri Jayandra Saraswathi Ayurveda College, Chennai. He is well supported by competent and well-trained Ayurveda physicians and therapeutic assistants providing personal care to the patients.
